Passenger flows between the two shores of the Western Mediterranean have continued to increase in the last two decades, although increases have occurred via the air mode. The marine flows of passengers have remained almost stable in the period.
Passenger flows at ports
Maritime passenger flows are concentrated in a limited number of ports. In addition, these flows are concentrated particularly in the ports around the Strait of Gibraltar.
Passenger flows at airports
The main air passenger flows between South Europe and the Maghreb ar concentrated in a limited number of airports. In the European shore, the two airports of Paris stand out clearly as the main passenger hubs to the Maghreb. In the South shore of the Mediterranean the flows are concentrated in the airports of Casablanca, Alger and Tunis beside Marrakech.
