In order to support Socio-economic Development through Transport and Logistics improvements, CETMO has established three objectives and areas of work to:
Generate Actionable Analysis and Insight
To generate applied, empirical and actionable analysis, insight and recommendations through over 115 projects regarding regional planning, trends and technological change, standards and best practices, and development strategies for transport and logistics administrations, operators, and developmental organizations.
To disseminate the insight generated in the projects and analyses through over 198 conferences and seminars with expert speakers from CETMO and multiple collaborating organizations. With over 9.850 attendees from administrations, operators, sector associations, cooperation organizations and academia. These encounters are designed to be spaces not just for divulgation and innovation, but also for cooperation, debate and exchange of practical experiences and knowledge.
To facilitate and promote Knowledge Transfer and Capacity Support Cooperation in the areas of Technology and Planning Cooperation and Sharing Policy Experience. CETMO brings over 30 years of experience in Governmental and Inter-Institutional International Cooperation in Multilateral, Bilateral, North-South, South-South and Triangular situations. With extensive experience working with Policy Makers such as the European Commission, Arab Maghreb Union and specially the group of Transport Ministries GTMO 5+5; International Financial Institutions like the European Investment Bank and the Islamic Development Bank, plus administrators, operators and sector associations.
The Centre for Western Mediterranean Transportation Studies, CETMO, from the acronym of Centre d’Etudes des Transports pour la Méditeranée Occidentale, has focused its work on the Western Mediterranean Region and later expanded it to all the Mediterranean and the Sahel countries, while maintaining attention and interest to the sustainable development in all Africa and overall Developing Countries.
